Military Ancestors

My British Military Ancestors include

  1. Andrew MUNRO - a member of the East Indian Army, he eventually settled in Australia after retiring from the Royale Regt of Artillery.
  2. George JENNINGS - a member of the East Indian Army who died in the during the Indian mutiny 
  3. Thomas DUTTON -  was a member of the 39th Regn Infy [according to his daughters birth certificate] and is thought to have  served  on a convict ship as part of the guard who accompanied convicts out on their journey to Australia possibly to Western Australia
  4. Thomas MANDERSON who was part of a contingent of soldiers who were identified as U.S., Residents Serving in the British Expeditionary Forces, 1917-1919; War Department. Office of the Provost Marshal General (1917–1919); digital images, Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., Ancestry.com (www.Ancestry.com : accessed 25 Mar 2016)
My Australian Military Ancestors include

  1. John Palmer WILLIAMSON -  Royal Australian Navy (Service #1521) and the Australian Imperial Force 9th Field Company Engineers, 3rd Division &  Australian Flying Corps (Service #10030)
  2. Lincoln James TODMAN - Royal Australian Air Force  (Service #205018) never saw service died of a massive heart attached before being called up.  Was at the opening of the Australian Parliament House in Canberra in 1927 as part of the Reserves.


    Research at this stage for all these men is only it's very early stages with much more needed to be done.
